Mr. Wright, a partner, serves as head of the Commercial Litigation Department. As a commercial litigator, he has handled a variety of cases arising out of business disputes. These cases often deal with issues such as breach of contractual obligations, breach of fiduciary duty, securities fraud and RICO violations.
Among his successes is a recent contract dispute Mr. Wright handled for a top energy company. The dispute resulted in a two-day arbitration hearing conducted in April 2006. After the submission of post-hearing briefs, the arbitrator decided the matter in favor of Mr. Wright's client.
A significant part of Mr. Wright's practice also involves claims against directors and officers, attorneys, and certified public accountants. He also practices in the area of construction law, handling disputes for contractors, design professionals, surety companies or owners.
Mr. Wright has served as a speaker on numerous programs dealing with a variety of issues, including attorney liability, accountant liability, ethics, lender liability, construction law and alternative dispute resolution. He is former Chair of the Professional, Officers and Directors Liability Committee of the American Bar Association TIPS Section. Mr. Wright has been an active member of several professional organizations. He currently serves on the Louisiana Bar Foundation IOLTA Grants Committee.
Mr. Wright is active in the community, serving on the board of directors of several civic organizations.
