Paul D. Hale practices in the Marine & Energy Section. He earned his Juris Doctorate with a certificate in International Legal Studies from Loyola University School of Law, where he was awarded a Greco-LaNasa Scholarship. He also studied at University of Vienna, in Vienna, Austria, and Eotvos Lorand University School of Law, located in Budapest, Hungary.
While in college, Mr. Hale interned at the Louisiana Legislature, where he was a legislative aide for the Jefferson Parish Legislative Delegation. He is a native of New Orleans.
Mr. Hale's practice is concentrated in the defense of bodily injury and death cases with emphasis in marine and offshore litigation claims. He also provides advice to clients concerning various types of contracts in the energy and marine industries.
Since joining the firm in 2006, Mr. Hale has concentrated his practice on defending vessel owners, oil and gas producers, exploration companies, facility operators, distributors, and offshore service contractors and their insurers against personal injury, property damage, wrongful death and survival claims. He has experience handling energy-related claims, including interpretation of indemnity and insurance requirements in vessel charters and Master Service Agreements as well as interpretation of the anti-indemnity acts of Louisiana and Texas.
Mr. Hale's defense practice is evenly divided between state and federal courts.
