James E. Courtenay is an associate in the firm's Civil Litigation Department. He earned his Juris Doctor degree cum laude from Southern University Law Center, where he was a teaching assistant and president of Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity International and the Sports and Entertainment Legal Association. Mr. Courtenay also holds a Masters in Public Administration and Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Louisiana State University, where he was both on the Dean's List and a member of the 2003 National Championship Football Team.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Courtenay worked with the Louisiana Legislature, both as a committee clerk for the House of Representatives Appropriations Committee and as a legislative assistant to Senator Robert J. Barham.
