Lorio Speaks on Professionalism

New Orleans, LA –Philip D. Lorio III, a partner in the firm's New Orleans office, will be a panelist along with several judges at the Louisiana State Bar Association's "Trials: Not a Halloween Surprise" CLE on Friday, October 29, in New Orleans.  The topic of his presentation is "Professionalism--Good Lessons from the Bench and Bar."

Mr. Lorio practices in the firm's litigation section. He has been lead trial counsel in successfully defending a major sunglasses manufacturer and served as its national trial counsel. In the area of medical malpractice, he has defended numerous cases involving OB/GYN's and represented a major pharmaceutical manufacturer whose product allegedly caused maternal and/or fetal deaths or permanent brain damage. Since 1978, he has defended an international truck and equipment leasing company on issues ranging from product defects to insurance issues and personal injury matters. He has also defended major insurance carriers and their insureds on products such as ladders, complex manufacturing machinery, medical devices and friction products.

Through his position as Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Austria, he has numerous contacts throughout Europe, particularly in Austria. Mr. Lorio is active in the local Consular Corps and the Austrian community.
